MINORS POLICY
PLEASE READ
If you are over 18 years old, bring your ID along to make sure you aren’t disappointed when you visit our venue.
Due to our liquor licensing requirements, we are able to welcome Under 18s at Fortress until a certain time. Please see below.
MINORS
Minors (defined as any person under 18 years of age) are permitted to enter Fortress until 7pm each day, and must leave before 8pm. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
After 8pm, we become strictly 18+ and all guests must have valid form of physical ID on their person. If you appear to be under 25, you may be asked to produce identification to prove you’re over the age of 18.
RESPONSIBLE ADULT
A responsible adult is defined as a person who is over the age of 18 years old and is:
the minor’s parent, step-parent, guardian, grandparent, or
the minor’s spouse who is over the age of 18 years, or
a person who is acting in place of a parent and who could reasonably be expected to exercise responsible supervision of the minor
Below is an example of what may not be acceptable:
an 18-year-old adult with a 16-year-old partner, sibling, or friend, would not be making parental decisions on the minor’s behalf
A responsible adult is a person who makes adult decisions on behalf of the minor. For example:
a 25-year-old adult with a 10-year-old brother or sister may be a responsible adult
a person in charge of an organised sporting or school group, such as a sporting coach, may be a responsible adult
The responsible adult must also actively supervise the minor at all times, and have a valid ID on their person for the duration of the visit.
By entering our venue, you agree that you meet the criteria of a responsible adult as required by state guidelines. Please note that our Venue Management team may assess and refuse entry on the basis that a person is not suitable to act as a responsible adult.
For more information on the definition of a responsible adult, please refer to the linked government policies for Victoria & New South Wales.
